Farming Adventure with the AULIA Family at Sumber Gempong

During this session, the main focus of the activity was the motor skill stimulation of AULIA Preschool students, particularly gross motor skills involving the legs. Children were encouraged to move actively by walking, light running, and navigating various natural surfaces that were not always even.

Through this activity, children were trained to be brave, confident, and unafraid of getting dirty. Mud, wet grass, and soil were no longer seen as something unpleasant, but rather as part of an enjoyable learning process. This experience is important in building children’s courage and resilience from an early age.

However, the most important aspect of this outdoor learning experience is how AULIA Preschool provides learning that is direct and concrete. "Getting Dirty Is a Good Thing", a phrase we may have heard before. As an educational institution, we believe it is important to encourage this approach as long as it takes place under the supervision of parents and teachers. We can set aside the neatly structured formal learning typically found in classrooms; on this occasion, let us give our children the freedom to explore. Allow them to feel, try, and affirm themselves through every sensory stimulus received by their hands and feet.
