What Is Brahu Temple?

Brahu Temple is one of the historical temples from the Majapahit period and holds strong cultural value. For children, seeing the temple directly creates a more concrete learning experience than only reading or viewing pictures.

Teachers introduced the temple as proof that Indonesia has a long historical journey and remarkable architecture. Children learned that historical places must be respected, kept clean, and protected.

During this session, children were also guided to notice shapes, brick textures, and building proportions in a simple way. Observation activities like this support cognitive growth because children practice comparing, classifying, and remembering visual information.

Children then shared what they found most interesting. This speaking moment helped develop communication confidence and expanded vocabulary in a natural context.

Why Are Cultural Heritage Visits Important for Children?

Cultural-site visits help children build early awareness of national identity. Through stories, direct observation, and guided discussion, children begin to understand that Indonesia's culture is diverse and meaningful.

These experiences strengthen children's sense of belonging toward cultural heritage. When children understand that temples are valuable historical sites, they grow into individuals who are more caring and respectful toward their environment.

Developmentally, this learning model supports language enrichment, memory, and curiosity. It also encourages children to connect new information with prior knowledge.

Character habits such as taking turns, listening, and following shared rules are also practiced naturally throughout the visit.
