An Enjoyable Stay at LPP Convention Hotel

After an exciting exploration and completing the secret mission at Prambanan Temple, it was finally time for everyone to rest and recharge. The long journey and a day full of adventure had taken its toll — on the children, the parents, and the teachers. So we headed to the accommodation that had been carefully chosen: LPP Convention Hotel Yogyakarta.

The hotel is located at Jl. Demangan Baru No. 8, Caturtunggal, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Its location is very strategic — close enough to the city center, yet offering a peaceful and green atmosphere. It was the perfect fit for our large group traveling with young children. The cool, clean, and well-maintained environment made us feel like we were arriving at a second home.

Right after we arrived, the rain began to fall in Yogyakarta. As if marking the start of our rest time, the drizzle brought a deep sense of gratitude and calm to our hearts. The overcast sky and the sound of rain falling on the garden leaves made us feel warmly welcomed. It was the perfect ending to our meaningful and eventful first day.

Upon arriving at the hotel area, we were greeted with warm hospitality from the hotel staff. They moved quickly to assist with the check-in process, carried our belongings, and ensured that every family received their assigned room. The facilities provided were also very supportive of our comfort — from clean and spacious rooms, a lush open garden, to a fun play area for children to unwind before bedtime.

Malioboro: A Magical Night Atmosphere

The rain that fell when we arrived at the hotel began to ease by evening. The sky over Yogyakarta cleared up slightly, leaving behind that fresh post-rain breeze. After a short rest at the hotel and taking some time after Maghrib prayers, the large group from AULIA Preschool got ready once again for an evening adventure — this time to one of the city’s most iconic spots for nightlife and shopping: Malioboro!

With renewed excitement and light jackets to ward off the cool air, everyone — students, parents, and teachers — moved together toward the heart of Yogyakarta. The previously wet streets began to dry, and Malioboro’s sidewalks filled with visitors. Storefront lights, rows of street vendors, and the distinct aroma of angkringan greeted us warmly. The atmosphere was lively yet inviting and friendly.

Here, we gave each family some free exploration time. Some immediately began hunting for Jogja souvenirs such as bakpia, T-shirts printed with “Yogyakarta,” and unique local handicrafts. Others relaxed along the sidewalks, enjoying the sounds of street musicians and traditional instruments that played beautifully amidst the city’s glowing lights. Some children were mesmerized by the neatly parked horse-drawn carriages along the roadside — adorned with colorful lights and charming decorations unique to Jogja.

Meanwhile, our beloved teachers truly enjoyed their time together. This rare moment became an opportunity to connect more closely outside the usual classroom routines. They strolled side by side, sharing quiet laughter while soaking in the warm, friendly night — a kind of atmosphere that perhaps only a special city like Yogyakarta can offer.

That night, Malioboro wasn’t just another tourist spot. It became a space of relaxation, togetherness, and warmth for the big AULIA family. The children laughed freely, the parents engaged in light conversations, and the teachers enjoyed their Saturday night with peaceful smiles. But… hold on! Don’t get too relaxed just yet — because the next morning, a big surprise was waiting, secretly prepared by the organizing team. And believe it or not, some of them didn’t get to sleep until 3 AM because they were busy planning everything! 😄
